Kuwait Amir visits Fire Force HQ

His Highness the Amir, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, visited Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) headquarters, on Tuesday.
Accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.
His Highness was received by Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah, and KFF Chief Major General Talal Al-Roumi.
In his speech, His Highness congratulated the fire force on the holy month of Ramadan, expressing his pride in the force for their service and sacrifice, as well as the force's chiefs for their leadership and training.
He reaffirmed his support for the force by raising its efficiency and readiness to protect communities, as well as keep pace with developments in the field of prevention through strategic planning.
His Highness noted the fire force's participation in the Sixth Arab Regional Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction, wherein Kuwait called on world governments to implement the Sendai Framework.
To continue the force's development and keep pace with its international counterparts, His Highness directed the force's leadership to develop the following:- Enhancing its member's vigilance and readiness, develop the force's systems to modern ones, benefit from modern technology to increase prevention and awareness, keep equipment updated, and finally cooperate with military, security, and civil sectors to better handle disasters and crises.
For his part, KFF's Chief had a similar speech, congratulating his Highness on the blessed month of Ramadan and thanking him for his dedicated support to the force.
He listed the force's achievements, among them is modernizing the force's systems to electronic ones, carrying out the largest preventative inspection, improve prevention and security systems, establishing new fire stations, implementing training programs, launching awareness campaigns, and many others.
Then Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ali Al-Mutairi recited a poem, and His Highness the Amir received a commemorative gift marking his visit.

Kuwait Amir urges security personnel to devotedly safeguard Kuwait

His Highness the Amir, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on Tuesday urged the Ministry of Interior's personnel to devotedly safeguard Kuwait and clamp down on drugs dealers with utmost firmness.
In speech marking his visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior (the Building of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah), His Highness the Amir began the statement with an address to the Minister of Defense and the Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the Interior Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and ministry personnel.
His Highness the Amir urged the MoI command and personnel to remain always vigilant, ready and primarily dedicated for serving the homeland, its interior security, its borders and stability, applying the law firmly on everybody without any exemption. He also called for "confronting narcotics, and any involved person, with all might and firmness for preserving future of youth, families and society.
"There must be no complacency in protecting the society from this annihilating scourge." Moreover, His Highness the Amir called for overhauling security tasks, upgrading the security personnel's efficiency, staying abreast of international development with regard of teaching, training and employing the modern sciences to sharpen the personnel skills.
He also called for boosting the confidence and partnership between the MoI and its staff with the citizens, preserving human rights and dignity through combating all forms of crime and offering services justly and equally.
His Highness Sheikh Meshal called for following up on implementing the new traffic law to cut the number of accidents and ensure roads' safety.
He had started his speech saying, "I am pleased along with my brother the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah and accompanying brothers, on this blessed night, to meet our brothers and children in the Ministry of Interior, command, chiefs and personnel - both civilians and military, to congratulate all on the advent of the blessed month, praying to His Almighty to aid us in fasting and prayers and accept us among his good subjects." Affirming that security is the basis for countries' development, progress and prosperity, His Highness the Amir said he is proud of the MoI personnel who play a pivotal role in safeguarding security "of our dear homeland and achieving safety for the Kuwaiti community." His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal praised the MoI personnel efforts in applying the laws on all citizens, also lauding update of the security apparatus with state-of-art systems, namely the biometric technology.
"We also value the ministry's continuous efforts for digital transformation, offering electronic services that save time and effort," he said, lauding role of the Kuwaiti women in the security sectors where they proved capable of shouldering the responsibility with efficiency and professionalism.
He pledged to continue backing the armed forces, particularly the MoI and its cadres, and supply the forces with most modern equipment. His Highness the Amir had arrived at the venue, accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.
He and his entourage were received upon arrival at the MoI headquarters by the Minister of Defense and the Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and the Interior Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Following His Highness the Amir's address, the Acting Minister of Interior made a statement, then a film about the MoI's achievements (2024) was screened, followed by a statement by Colonel Dr. Lujain Al-Rushaid on behalf of the Women Police and poetry was recited by Major Mohammad Madi Ayed.
His Highness the Amir was granted a memorial gift.

Kuwait Amir visits Ministry of Defense

His Highness the Amir, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah paid a visit on Monday to the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense.
Accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, His Highness the Amir was received by Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshal Mubarak Al-Sabah and Deputy Chief of General Staff of Kuwait Army Air Vice Marshal Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
In a speech, His Highness the Amir said "It is a pleasure to us - and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah and the companions - to meet with the Defense Ministry's personnel to congratulate you on the holy month of Ramadan".
His Highness the Amir prayed to Allah to accept good deeds of all in this month, and return this occasion to the Arab and Islamic nations with goodness and blessings.
His Highness the Amir expressed pride for Kuwait's Armed Forces, its command and personnel as the fortress to safeguard and protect the dear homeland's safety, security, stability and independence.
"In this regard, we are keen on boosting the efficiency and potential of our armed forces and enabling them to achieve their sacred duties and missions in safeguarding the country by air, sea and land. Our support will continue to develop the homeland's capabilities and readiness with keeping pace the development of armament and preparation in line with the high-standards technological standards," His Highness the Amir noted. His Highness the Amir expressed again condolences to the martyrs who lost their lives during a live ammunition exercise, wishing those wounded a speedy recovery.
Despite that painful incident, the Ministry of Defense has a key role in preparing and rehabilitating national cadres to assume responsibilities and cement the values of loyalty, His Highness the Amir stressed.
"We appreciate the Ministry's role in harnessing all potential to back and support efforts aiming to achieve balance and harmony among the State's ministries and institutions, along security and military collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, the National Guards and Kuwait Fire Force," His Highness the Amir affirmed.
In addition, His Highness the Amir referred to the Armed Forces' contributions to solidifying Kuwait's humanitarian action, through the air forces' efforts in cooperation with the State's concerned bodies, to transport relief aid to some sisterly countries facing wars of crises, highlighting the role of the Ministry's female personnel as well.
His Highness the Amir highlighted the current conditions in some surrounding countries that have repercussions, stressing the need of achieving security and stability in these countries.
Expressing confidence in Kuwait's robust army's capabilities and the management of defense minister, His Highness the Amir directed completing the development and reform path, accountability, enhancing transparency, and achieving justice and neutrality.
His Highness the Amir also instructed achieving the utmost vigilance and preparation of the armed forces, and boosting its combat potential, and joint military collaboration.
In this regard, His Highness the Amir further asked for paying attention to military education, rehabilitating more cadres and upgrading the academic side in a manner that ensures the armed institutions' readiness for face future challenges.
His Highness the Amir called for protecting military cyberspace, digital systems safety, and sharing expertise toward the latest innovations in the cybersecurity field.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff congratulated, on behalf of Defense Minister and all members of the Ministry, His Highness the Amir on Ramadan, wishing His Highness the Amir good health and Kuwait further progress and prosperity.
He voiced their honor to receive Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince and Acting Prime Minister during this month.
He referred to the key role of the Defense Ministry in supporting Kuwait's humanitarian and relief efforts for brothers and the needy.
Kuwait's relief air bridge continued to help Syrian, Lebanese and Yemeni peoples, in a close cooperation between Kuwait's Air Force, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and Zakat House, Deputy Chief of General Staff said.
He also pointed to the Ministry's steps made in developing military infrastructure and boosting logistic support system to ensure an integrated action environment to achieve the strategic goals to strengthen the country's stability and security.
Finally, Major Dhari Meshal Al-Bogan delivered a poem, which was highly pleased and appreciated by the attendees

Kuwait Amir's visit to UK... a significant milestone in Kuwaiti-British relations

The visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to the UK on Tuesday, at the personal invitation of King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, represents a significant milestone in the journey of the relations that have spanned 125 years between the two countries.
This visit marks the first trip of His Highness the Amir to the UK since he assumed office on December 20, 2023, succeeding the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Previously, His Highness visited the United Kingdom four times as Crown Prince, the first time was on September 18, 2022 - Representing the late Amir to offer condolences on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, during which he met King Charles III.
The second time was on May 6, 2023 - Representing the late Amir at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III, the third on August 28, 2023 - At the invitation of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, during which he attended the 70th anniversary celebration of the Kuwait Investment Office in the United Kingdom, the fourth on October 24, 2023 - At the official invitation of King Charles III.
The visit on Tuesday, along with the exchanged visits between the rulers of Kuwait and the British monarchs, reflects the strength of historical ties, the mutual respect, shared interests, and coordination on regional and global issues of common concern.
The relations, which has steadily developed over the past decades, was formalized with the signing of several agreements, beginning with the treaty of January 1899, which marked the official start of diplomatic relations between the two nations and laid the foundation for extensive cooperation and strategic partnerships.
Notable events include Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah visit to London on October 1919 as the first Kuwaiti official to congratulate King George V on Britain's victory in World War I, Sheikh Ahmad visited again as Kuwait's ruler mid-1935, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip visited Kuwait on February 12, 1979, marking the first visit by a British monarch, upon the invitation of the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The bilateral relations remained stable for seven decades until 1961, when late Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah initiated steps toward a new phase in the relationship by steering Kuwait toward independence.
On June 19, 1961, Sheikh Abdullah declared Kuwait's independence, abolishing the 1899 treaty, though Britain continued supporting Kuwait by defending its territorial integrity from external threats, including deploying military forces during Iraq's territorial ambitions.
During the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, the UK was one of the key allies in rejecting the Iraqi aggression and leading military efforts to liberate Kuwait.
In 2012, the Kuwaiti-British Joint Steering Group was formed, holding biannual meetings to strengthen bilateral relations and implement agreed-upon initiatives.
Other key areas of cooperation include economic, trade, cultural, and educational partnerships, energy transition, climate change, food security, and healthcare.
To commemorate their enduring ties, the two nations declared 2024 the Year of the Kuwaiti-British Partnership, based on an agreement signed on August 29, 2023, during His Highness the Amir - then Crown Prince -- Sheikh Meshal's visit to the UK.
In January 2024, a joint statement from both foreign ministries highlighted the steady growth of the bilateral relations over 125 years, emphasizing shared support and cooperation in addressing regional and global challenges and defending shared values.
Through mutual visits and periodic meetings, both nations aim to establish numerous strategic dialogues, map out a brighter future for their partnership, and fulfill their ambitious shared vision to advance the interests of their peoples and countries.

In his cable, His Highness the Amir praised the Sultanate's comprehensive development accomplishments covering various domains under the Sultan's leadership.
His Highness the Amir commended the historical and fraternal relations between both countries and peoples, underlining permanent and joint interest in promoting and developing horizons of existing cooperation at all levels.
