His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has sent a cable of congratulations to President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda on the occasion of his country's National Day. In the cable, His Highness the Amir wished the President of Lithuania everlasting health and wellness, and further progress and prosperity for his country and people.

The Brazilian president expressed his deepest sorrows and grief over the passing of the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He also conveyed his congratulations to the Amir on assuming office, wishing him success and good health. His Highness the Amir sent a reply letter to the President of Brazil, expressing his sincere thanks and gratitude for his kind sentiments and wishes, wishing him good health and further progress and development for his country.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the official delegation accompanying him departed Bahrain after a state visit on Tuesday. His Highness was seen off at the airport by King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. An Amiri decree was issued on Thursday dissolving the National Assembly, citing the parliament's violation of the Constitution. The decree, which citied article 107 of the Constitution, said the National Assembly had violated the Constitution within the context of using improper terms in addressing His Highness the Amir. It added that the Prime Minister, Ministers and other concerned parties must implement this decree, effective as of the time of its issuance. It is to be published in the official Gazette. Article 107 states the Amir may dissolve the National Assembly by a decree in which the reasons for dissolution shall be indicated.

In his cable, His Highness the Amir thanked the Bahraini King for his hospitality and warm welcome during his visit to the country, showing the deep brotherly ties between the two countries. In that matter, His Highness the Amir stressed the value that Kuwait holds for the relationship with Bahrain and affirmed the keenness to strengthen cooperation that benefits both sides. Furthermore, His Highness Sheikh Meshal expressed his gratitude to the Bahraini King for awarding him with the Order of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, saying it has a profound significance in his heart and it embodies the strong brotherly bonds between Kuwait and Bahrain.
