His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday received a phone call from the Sultan of Oman his Majesty Haitham bin Tariq on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. During the phone call, Sultan Haitham expressed to His Highness the Amir his sincere congratulations and best wishes on this blessed occasion. On his part, His Highness the Amir thanked him for his kind gesture, which is a part of the two countries' strong historical ties.

The Amiri Diwan conveyed on Monday the warmest congratulations of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to citizens and residents in Kuwait on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, and prayed that they would continue to live in love and harmony. The Amiri Diwan, on this occasion, congratulated His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. It also congratulated the Kuwaiti people and all residents in the country and prayed that the occasion would revisit the Arab and Muslim states as they enjoyed greater security and peace.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Sunday former national assembly speaker, Ahmad Al-Sadoun. His Highness the Amir also received former national assembly speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim. His Highness the Amir's receptions were part of current consultations for forming a new government.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah accepted Sunday resignation of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. An Amiri Order, signed by his Highness the Amir, accepted the government's resignation and instructed them to act as care-takers until formation of a new cabinet. The National Assembly shall net notified of this Order and be published in the official gazette.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Monday former prime ministers, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The reception was part of current consultations for forming a new government.

An Amiri Decree was issued on Sunday appointing governors of Al-Farwaniya, Al-Assima, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Al-Ahmadi and Al-Jahraa. The Amiri Decree stipulated the appointment with a minister's degree Adhbi Nasser Al-Adhbi Al-Sabah as Al-Farwaniya Governor, Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah as Al-Assima Governor, Sabah Badr Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah as Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governor, Hamad Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah as Al-Ahmadi Governor and Hamad Jassem Mohammad Mheisen Al-Habshi as Al-Jahraa Governor.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed a decree Sunday calling on National Assembly to convene on Wednesday, April 17. The National Assembly will be notified of this decree and to be published in the official gazette. The government, in an extraordinary meeting yesterday, approved a draft decree calling on the National Assembly to hold the first meeting of the 18th legislative term on April 17.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent cables of thanks to ministers and heads of state agencies who contributed to success and orderliness of the 2024 National Assembly elections. The Amiri cables were addressed to His Highness the Commander of the National Guard Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Youssef Saud Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Culture Abdul-Rahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Abdul-Wahhab Al-Awadhi, and Minister of Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Affairs Sheikh Feras Saud Al-Malek Al-Sabah. His Highness the Amir also sent cables of thanks to Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Adel Mohammad Al-Adwani, Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Faisal Saeed Al-Gharib, and Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr. Noura Muhammad Khaled Al-Mashaan, Board Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society Dr. Hilal Musaed Al-Sayer and Chief of Kuwait Fire Force Lt.-Gen. Khaled Rakan Al-Mikrad. In his messages, His Highness the Amir expressed appreciation of the great efforts made by the ministries and state departments in the preparation and organization of the just-ended elections in an orderly way. He also expressed gratitude to the members of the judiciary commission which supervised the electoral process, appreciating their efforts to ensure the credibility and transparency of the elections. His Highness the Amir also thanked the voters for taking part effectively in the elections and exercising their constitutional right to vote, which reflected the civilized democratic aspect of the dear homeland.
