Kuwait Amir receives Jordanian Crown Prince

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Sunday at Bayan Palace, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Crown Prince of Jordan Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II and accompanying delegation, on occasion of official visit.
The Jordanian Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and his wishes of good health to His Highness the Amir and to the people of Kuwait further progress and prosperity.
His Highness the Amir, on his part, relayed his greetings to King Abdullah II and wished him good health and wellbeing and for the people of Jordan further development under his wise leadership.
During the meeting, the two talked of the sturdy relations tying the two nations, and discussed issues of common interest as well as latest developments on regional and international fronts and mechanisms boosting common interests on a variety of levels.
Attending the meeting were His Highness the Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah and other top officials.

Minister Al-Fassam presented His Highness with Sheikh Saud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, on occasion of being appointed Managing Director of Kuwait Investment Authority.

Kuwait Amir honors KFAS awards' winners for '22-'23

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Wednesday honored winners of the Jaber Al-Ahmad Prize for Young Researchers, Kuwait Prize and Al-Sumait Prize for African Development, for the years 2022-2023.
The winners were honored at the award distribution ceremony of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), held at Bayan Palace's theater.
For the 2022 edition of Jaber Al-Ahmad Prize for Young Researchers, Dr. Mohammad Jamal won the award for Medical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences, while Dr. Dhari Al-Huwail was granted the award in field of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Claiming the Engineering Sciences award was Dr. Yousef Al-Asiri, while Dr. Abdullah Al-Shebli Social took the Sciences and Humanities award and Dr. Abdullah Jawad Sultan the Administration and Economics award.
As for the 2023 edition of the prize, Dr. Zaid Al-Marzouq won the award for Medical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Fatima Al-Rashed for Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Dr. Amar Bahman the Engineering Sciences award.
As for field of social sciences and humanities, both Dr. Amal Al-Saleh and Dr. Fahad Al-Zumae, were granted the award.
The award was established back in 1988 as an initiative by the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to encourage and honor PhD holders.
Kuwait Prize, granted annually to promote research efforts and encourage Arab scientists, was granted to Saudi Arabia's Dr. Fouzan Al-Kuraya for the 2022 edition Basic Sciences field.
As for Moroccan Dr. Khalil bin Al-Haj Amin he was granted the award for Applied Sciences, while Lebanese Dr. Eli Tamer took the award in Economics and Social Sciences.
Moroccan Dr. Saeed Yaktine won the award for Art and literature, and for Emerging interdisciplinary sciences Tunisia's Dr. Mohammad Mattoussi.
The 2023 edition of the award featured Dr. Nashat Nassar of Palestine and Morocco's Mohammad Al-Dowdy for Basic Sciences.
Egypt's Dr. Mohammad Sultan, won the award for field of applied sciences, while Syrian Dr. Dina Al-Qatabi won the award for emerging sciences.
Al-Sumait Prize for African Development, in its 2022 edition was granted to both African Agricultural Technology Foundation, alongside Ugandan Scientist Catherine Nakalembe for their contributions to food security.
As for the 2023 edition, it was given out to CAMFED - Campaign for Female Education for their work in supporting education.
The Al-Sumait Prize for African Development is an initiative by the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in honor of the late Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sumait, who had dedicated his life towards humanitarian and charity work for health, education and food projects in African Nations.
The award aims to recognize the finest studies, scientific projects, applied research and innovative initiatives that have had a significant impact and lasting influence on advancing Africa's economic and social development.
