Kuwait Amir receives condolence cable from Singapore Pres.
19-12-2023His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Tuesday a cable of condolences from President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, on demise of late Kuwait Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The President conveyed the deep sorrow and sincere solace of Singaporean people to the Amir, and hailed the late Amir's contributions to the developmental journey of his country. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal sent a cable in appreciation of the President's sincere sentiments thanking him and wishing him good health and wellbeing.
Kuwait Amir receives congratulations from top officials
20-12-2023His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Wednesday several cables from top Kuwaiti officials, congratulating him on taking the constitutional oath, becoming the 17th Amir of the State of Kuwait. In his cable, Speaker of the National Assembly Ahmad Al-Saadoun congratulated His Highness the Amir on taking oath, saying that the parliament and people of Kuwait appreciated the leading role played by His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad in the previous period. He commended His Highness Sheikh Mishal for his strong support to the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah who on his part fulfilled his duty in serving the Kuwaiti people and protecting the country's interest. He asserted that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was up to the task of leading the State of Kuwait into a much prosperous and promising future. In a similar cable addressed to His Highness the Amir, His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah -- Chief of the Kuwait National Guard (KNG) -- congratulated Sheikh Mishal on taking the constitutional oath, expressing support and wishes of success and welfare to His Highness. Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in his cable, congratulated His Highness the Amir on assuming post, commending His Highness for all the efforts and sacrifices he made to serve Kuwait and its people. He expressed wishes of welfare and good health to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal, hoping that he would continue to succeed in his position as leader of the country and the Kuwaiti people. On his part, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, congratulating him on taking oath during the special session of parliament earlier today. He wished His Highness the Amir all the success in leading the Kuwaiti people and the country into a future prosperity and development. In his reply cables to the top officials, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah thanked them for their sincere wishes and hopes, affirming that he would continue efforts to better serve Kuwait and meet the expectations of the Kuwaiti people.
Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad takes oath as 17th Amir of Kuwait
20-12-2023His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah took oath at a special National Assembly session on Wednesday becoming the 17th Amir of the State of Kuwait. His Highness Sheikh Meshal read: "I swear by Almighty Allah to respect the Constitution and the laws of the State, to defend the liberties, interests and properties of the people and to safeguard the independence and territorial integrity of the country," as stated in article 60 of the constitution. Last Saturday, the Amiri Diwan announced the demise of the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Subsequently, the cabinet named His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as the 17th Amir of Kuwait.
Kuwait Amir receives condolence message from India PM
19-12-2023His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Tuesday a message from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, voicing heartfelt condolences and sincere solace over the passing away of the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. In the message, the Indian prime minister hailed the late Amir's role in bolstering Kuwaiti-Indian relations, wishing His Highness the Amir and the people of Kuwait more patience over the demise of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. In reply, His Highness the Amir sent the Indian prime minister a message of thanks and appreciation for his sincere sentiments of condolences and sympathies, wishing him good health and wellness.

19-12-2023His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received a cable of condolence from the King of Thailand Maha Vajiralongkorn over the passing of the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. In the cable, the King and his wife Queen Suthida expressed their deep sorrow and remembered Sheikh Nawaf's efforts in maintaining peace and stability regionally and internationally. His Highness the Amir sent a reply enclosed with the utmost appreciation for the heartfelt sentiments.
